One of the great off-season activities for paddlers is planning next season's long trip - looking at guidebooks, topographical maps, the internet, talking to people who have done an extended paddling trip and thinking about how to make dream trips happen. Attending a Long Trip Meeting is a way to find a match between paddlers and potential trips. Paddlers who are planning long trips and may be looking for people to share the experience, as well as those who would like to take part in a long trip are welcome.
The Eighth Annual Long Trip Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 19th at 7:15 p.m. sharp in the Banquet Room at Burnaby Lake Clubhouse, 3760 Sperling Avenue. This is the same place as the Beaver Canoe Club meets and the same place as the event was held last year. Please RSVP to Glen Stedham at stedham@shaw.ca (604-945-0995) or Margaret Wells at margaret_wells@telus.net (604-454-0280).
If you have an idea for a trip, bring as much detail as possible to the meeting (e.g. route, duration, preferred dates, etc).
Also please note that these trips are not club trips under the auspices of either the Beaver or Dogwood Canoe Clubs. The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate dialogue and hopefully trips. Glen Stedham
