The Dogwood Canoe & Kayak Club is a group of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities who share a love of paddling, the outdoors and a respect for the environment.

We paddle solo and tandem canoes and kayaks on flat water, moving water, white water, oceans, estuaries, lakes, and ponds. A number of our members sail canoes. Organized trips are planned from March to November. In the winter months you will find many of us skiing the hills or at the pool trying to nail that roll.

While there are many planned club trips there are also many more almost spur-of-the-moment outings at the mercy of tides and weather.  Check the Calendar page to view the current list of trips and current contact information.

The club has a group site on Facebook that is open to the public and is a great place to view and store club photos from past trips and to stay up to date. If you have a Facebook account, please log in and then simply type “Dogwood Canoe and Kayak Club” in the box titled Search for People, Places and Things.

Club Meeting

Our meetings are held every-other month at the Wesburn Community Centre 4781 Parkwood Ave., Burnaby, BC.

Dogwood Members, Past Members, Family, and Friends -

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 29, '17 at 7:15 - 9:30 p.m. for our annual Dogwood Christmas Celebration held at the  Wesburn  Community Hall - 4781 Parkwood Ave., Burnaby. On this festive  evening there will be Christmas music, singing, a photo contest with a prize given to the winner in each of the three categories - Action, Nature, and Humour - and of course we will be having our Christmas potluck. Please note that the Party will be held on the fifth Wednesday of the month, not the fourth as is usual.

If any members know of any members (past or present) who did not receive an email and would like to attend please invite them as they are more than welcome - the more the merrier!

For those interesting in participating in the photo contest please bring in prints for the category you wish to enter...or, better yet...enter in all three categories. The print can be black and white or coloured and must be no larger than 4"x 6". Previous winning photos cannot be used again.

For those of you who are as enthusiastic about this party as I am, please arrive at 7:00 - 7:10 p.m. and help to decorate and set up the chairs and tables.

Please supply your own cutlery, dishes, glasses, mugs. The stove is available for those wishing to warm up their contribution.

If you will be joining us or have any other questions please contact Geraldine: 604 513 9784 or ggvanderb@yahoo.ca
