This clinic is designed for any canoe beginner or expert. Come out for a day of fun in the sun.
Everyone that paddles will find canoe sailing a welcome and rewarding challenge.
Session outline
This full day clinic will meet at an appropriate body of water. A brief introduction and question and answer session will take place prior to practicing sailing techniques on the water. Canoes and kyaks welcome. All interested parties are welcome, even if you don't have any sailing equipment , this will be a chance to see and try out what others have done.

- Clinic participants to gain an introduction to the skills, knowledge, and safety techniques of canoe sailing on lakes and in the ocean.
- Topics Covered
- Equipment - What you need to turn your canoe into a sailing canoe. This is half the fun for many canoe sailors. You can go with a proven racing class design such as the ACA or cook up your own unique rig. Hi and low tech, one, two, or three sails, single dual or no outrigger, the possibilities are almost endless, and no two rigs are the same.

- Safety - We cover safety issues that are specific to canoe sailing such as recovery after a capsize and essential safety equipment.

- On water session - The empasis here is compairing different rigs performance and handling. Swapping and bringing guests on board is encoraged. Constructive evaluations of your rig and sailing tequnique will be done on a non formal basis.
Equipment
Those taking the clinic must to provide their own personal floatation devices, and any other equipment specified by the clinic instructor.
Transportation & Food
Participants will be responsible for their own transportation and meals for all sessions.
